Stacy brought her cuffed hands up to her hair and carefully removed the pin. She looked at it dubiously. "This would be ideal for lock-picking," she said. "But it seems altogether too convenient. I don't recall putting the pin in my hair. In fact I don't even recognise it."

  1. "Throw it away," Astra urged. "It must be some sort of trap of the dragon's.
  2. "It would be perverse not to use it," Astra said. "If you'll unlock my cuffs with it, I'll then do the same for you."
  3. The hairpin transformed into a lettuce leaf before they could use it. "Just an example of the dragon's teasing," Astra sighed.
