It was a seemingly normal gym, straight out of any high school, complete
with bleachers and basketball hoops. But of course, everyone was animal
morphs...and the vixen, perched parralel on the balance beam still had the
eyes of someone far old then she looked. She wore a dark blue leotard and
black leggings. It set off her red-brown coat and creamy-white chest-fur
quite stylishly. "Look." said Stacy, trying hard not to be drawn into those eyes. "You said that your allies in my year safely rescued Scott and my mother. And I'm being taken into the far future for my protection in order to keep me away from the idiots trying to kill me." "Yes." said the Teacher. "Fine." said Stacy. "But why was I left in the debris for so long? Why didn't your allies take me with?" "So you would be there when I rescued you." "Fine. Why didn't you show up ten minutes earlier and stop the two from being injured in the first place? I'm really uncomfortable allying myself with people who will let my mom get banged and scorched." The vixen scurried forward, her snout now two feet from Stacy's snout. "Some events are set in time, such as your mother and Scott being injured. She will be treated by the 'X-Man's' doctor, an older man named 'Bones' and they will find love." "Well, that's just peachy!" Stacy said, shouting for no clear reason. "If it's all set in time, how come you could pull me out of the timestream? Not that I'm saying I believe in any of that..." "We could pick you up...because we were there to pick you up. Time...was fluid enough to go there...because we went there." Stacy threw her paws up. "Now that's just foolishness!" The Teacher slid off the bar with enviable grace. She padded to the nearest wall and tapped a button. Part of the wall rose and behind it was, encased in lucite glass, an ancient, browned document, signed 1901. Stacy read the text; it detailed the past ten hours. Including entering the gym and most of the conversation that just happened. Not all. Most. "Oh come on!" Stacy hit the wall in frustration. "You expect me to believe you had this document here just for me? In the freakin' gym of all places?" The Teacher nodded. "We travel through time. I had five years to prepare for our visit here." "But the gym? I saw the library!" "The document said the gym." "I give up." "Okay. Do you wish to meet the others?" "Yeah. Okay. Where did they go anyway?" "Time. George Washington Carver did have to survive the bomb." "I'm not even going to ask."
