Stacy didn't stop to think about what she was doing. It just seemed to
come instinctively. She was far too fast for the mugger to have time to
draw his gun.
Her bodyguard was stunned into silence for a moment, but when he managed to speak he was furious. "You could have gotten yourself killed," he said. "Why bother to bring me along to protect you, if you are going to pull a crazy stunt like that?" As he spoke he was taking the man's gun and then searching him thoroughly. The man was still too dazed from Stacy's punch to resist. "He's right, Ms Jones," one of the two dark-clad men said. They had moved up close when they saw what was happening. Stacy noted that, unlike Jacob, they weren't on first name terms with her. She had gained the impression that Jacob had been working for her for some time, but that the other two had just been hired on a short term basis.
