Entombed in the Abyss

"How many more floors down does this staircase go?"

"No one knows for sure. The biolab shelters have been hermetically sealed for the past 400 years by order of the Over Power."

Astra suddenly had a sharp and prickling sensation in the back of her head like she was being watched. Glancing up she saw a pair of gleaming yellow eyes staring at her from the darkness of the staircase above. Starting with fright she almost tripped and when she looked again the eyes were gone. She stumbled back against the metal plating of the staircase wall and realized it was hollow. There was a loud bang as something ran through a tunnel on the other side of the wall.

"We're not alone down here," Astra said. "Does anyone have a weapon?"

All eyes turn to the security guard - Jane, a pouty lipped, buxom blonde wearing only an armband with a red diamond emblem. "My weapon? A repeating action ether projector lance cannon with 8000 rounds and five spare clips. I doubt a civilian like you can handle it."

"I'm the best trained out of all these women. Let me use your vibro- blade." Astra said.

"Allright," Jane said, unhooking the vibroblade from her hip. "When activated this close range combat knife vibrates 10 thousand times per second, making it able to cut through solid rock and reinforced steel. Use it carefully, civillian."

Astra gripped the cold steel of the vibroblade sheath as Elipsis, one of the other women started screaming "We are doomed!! Doomed!! We're going to rot down here with the alchemic beasts the mad Over Power created!!" Jane slapped her down and spat "Never speak ill of the Over Power, bitch! Be grateful she lets you remain alive!"

"That's enough of that!" glared Terra, the fifth woman. "We've had it of your frenzied ways, Jane! You cant bully us around any more!"

"Please stop it, all of you!" Lesba sobbed, her small frame shaking as she spoke. "Our children were killed in the wake of the Empire's onslaught. How can we quibble amongst ourselves like this!"

"Yes, we've got to get out of here!" Astra said "This staircase connects to tunnels that may lead to other staircases - but for now we've got to keep moving and find our way to safety. For all we know the staircase could collapse at any moment!"

1. The five unlikely women venture further down into the staircase.
2. The staircase collapses.
3. Jane goes crazy and fights Terra in hand to hand combat.
4. Someone throws a hand grenade into the stairwell.
