Stacy was extremely tired by this point, and realizing that she would need
as clear a head as possible to deal with whatever would face her tomorrow,
she decided to turn in. She had surprisingly little trouble getting to
sleep, all things considered, and woke up early the next morning feeling
somewhat more hopeful. She had just finished dressing when there was a knock at her door. Before she could respond, the door opened, and a young woman in a lab coat entered, flanked by two security guards. Stacy noted that they were the same guards as last night -- didn't these guys ever sleep? "Hello!" the woman said, far too brightly. "I'm Dr. Wu! I'm here to take you to meet your department head!" "All right," said Stacy. "Lead on." She followed Dr. Wu down three floors and through a long hallway. The woman said nothing further, and, though Stacy badly wanted to question her, somehow the presence of the guards made her uncomfortable about talking. Eventually, they entered a room that appeared to be a lab of some kind. A man looked up from a computer terminal as they entered. Stacy felt a sudden moment of shock. She was sure she recognized this man from somewhere!
