Never Try to Interrupt a Spell

"What happened?" Andrew asked.

"I think that the spell assumed that I must be referring to Fred, as the nearest object to me. It must have sent him to where he should be, which is presumably the Allaria of fifteen hundred years ago! I had no idea that I had enough power to do that!"

"Can you bring him back here?"

"I can't see how I can cast a spell on someone who is 'now' fifteen hundred years in the past. In any case, I'm not sure that I should, even if I could. It is me who Griffyd laid a task on. Fred was just unfortunate enough to be with me at the time."

1. "Like me," Velus pointed out. "Can you send me back too?"
2. "Like me," Velus pointed out. "But I want to stay with you."
3. "Never mind all that!" Mandy shouted through her closed bedroom door. "What about my clothes?!"
4. Fred emerged into the hallway from Andrew's bedroom. Since he had been asleep till a few minutes ago, the magic had apparently decided that he belonged in Andrew's bed so that he could finish his nap!
