Throwing the Mage off the Scent

With the mage now occupied, Yarna discretely sent for a man whom she had first met many years ago during her mother's reign. Belboz was a somewhat mysterious mage, rumored to have ties to the fabled Dragon of the Caves, but for some years after Astra's disappearance, he had been a frequent visitor to the castle, and Yarna had become acquainted with him.

In an oblique way, without revealing too many details, Yarna explained what she wanted done. "I need a spell that will mask an enchantment already in place here, and then mimic it somehow on some other object. I have my reasons, which don't concern you, but it needs to be done quickly and I can pay you quite well."

Belboz though about it for a moment, then smiled and said:

1. "It shouldn't be a problem. My price is 100,000 Gold Crowns - take it or leave it."
2. "It shouldn't be a problem. And you know my price."
3. "Am I correct in guessing this statue is actually your dear sister, petrified? If so - we need to talk further."
4. "It's more difficult than it sounds. I can do it - but I'll need some *special* assistance."
5. "I will do it for nothing. All I want is your sacred pledge to return this favor with another - no questions asked."
