Interrogating the Priest of Eibon, Part 1

"Stop that!" Exeter said tersely. "The Priest of Eibon is our guest and shall be treated with respect. Go procure him some edible food and drink and leave us two to speak with him in private."

"I-if you say so, my Lord." the sergeant of the men at arms grunted, motioning the rest of his men to follow him. They filed out to leave Exotica and Exeter alone with the Priest of Eibon, who rose to his knees and glared to acknowledge them.

"You know you would really make more friends if you just stopped glaring so bloody much!" Exeter said. "In any case, we are here to propose a truce. Full pardons for your surviving followers if you join our ranks and follow our law. No hangings, as has been earlier proposed."

The Priest of Eibon sniffed the air and grinned wickedly. "And what of the Princess Exotica?"

"Please tell me how I can save Mary," Exotica said, falling to her knees before the Priest of Eibon. The harsh grime of the burned out prison house floor stained her dress. Crows cawed overhead as the thin light of the midday sun shone through thick clouds.

"Why worry so much about one chambermaid?" the Priest scowled. "It would seem you have greater concerns at this time. TO defeat the Shoggoth you must devote your life to the teachings of Eibon. There is no other path."

"Yes but Mary saved my life and I must save hers as well."

"Very well, I shall tell you..."

2. Within the ancient underground capital city.
3. Where the Shoggoth is.
