"Adventure" Really is Someone Else in Deep Trouble a Long Way Off! (Part 2)

My family is right about adventure. Situations like this reminds us that "adventure" really is someone else in deep trouble a long way off!

However, now is not the time for an angst fest. Time to go.

“I’ll . . .go and contact those survivors from NERV,” Commander Adams says softly after an uncomfortable, awkward silence brought about in part by all of us having to get our heart rates back down to normal. That Id monster was . . . MOST unsettling to say the least! “Doc . . .go down with the others and . . . Keep me informed of the going on, please.”

. . .

I will admit that whatever other bad things I may have thought about this man (who the HELL does he think he is, at least he can acknowledge reality when it comes up and slaps him in the face like this.

We need to do it, in one fashion or another. WITH or without his leave, we must fix things with Morbius (the threat he poses) before we all come to grief because of his Id.

. . .

And . . .when everything is said and done I hope that I shall get the chance to appologise to Morbius for . . .screwing with his view. On the Krell. On himself.

DEFINETELY I shall apologize to him and his daughter for having . . .inflicted upon them . . .the truth about me and those who work at NERV.

IF I ever get the chance..

What am I saying? What happened to us all after I phazored open Morbius’ house--Krell steel not being able to absorbed phasor fire like it can “blaster” pulses and we do NOT have time to waste to figure a less destructive way on opening it up properly--I and the others (including Robby and Altaira . . .they wanted to keep an EYE on us as well . . .think they’d figured out what may come if the G-man fails . . .again).

. . .

I didn’t like the nervous looks the G-man kept giving Robby as he followed us in. Something tells me that whatever technology Robby was made with just MIGHT be able to counteract almost anything short of magery I and the others can use. Might even have a means to put ME out (stun isn’t just a setting found only on phasors from Star Trek)…

But I put aside and left such forbodings unsaid. Instead I was right in the middle of at least trying some . . .small talk of sorts to ease the situation as much as possible.

It . . .seemed to be the only thing to do, otherwise the journey was going to be a long and strained silent one down to the “Nursery” where Morbius got his brain boost and whatnot (and where the G-man was going to hopefully put things to right).

Really, might have not had a hope in Hell at easing the tension but I had to try something.

But that was when things got REALLY weird . . .and I cannot be swayed from the sneaking suspicion that the Author (that trollish lout) had something to do with it!!

First, don’t ask me exactly HOW it happened. However, though we passed only ONE (out of place) monitor on the wall and it only played the ending credits to Neon Genesis Evangelion (recognized my favorite song “Fly me to the Moon” right off the bat even before we saw the screen) we all got mentally spammed with the entirety of that show (albeit as seen through live action vice anime).

You have NEVER seen such horrified looks as I saw on some of the others faces, let me tell you. Spent the rest of the trip going over what they saw and WHY it was as it had happened. No excuses, just explanations.

And also much needed insight into the NERV neighbors they’d had dumped into their lap, I shall have to add. Great way to get to know just what makes ‘em tick…

But the second and final blow to us when . . .the Chaos Energy swept us ALL off planet to . . .someplace else on the Iconian highway…

In a cave system…

Fortunately after the G-man had done the most expedient thing for the situation at hand and ordered ALL the reactors to scram, shutting them down.

Got VERY dark around there, let me tell you. But without power Morbius’ Id cannot come out and play with us (thank GOD). Was going to be a long walk back for Morbius and the others but at least they could do it…

The G-man was in the middle of giving Morbius (still distraught at finding Krell to not be all he’d imagined at all) insight into why he should NEVER set foot inside this place again (painful and lethal consequences if he should be found trespassing) when it happened.

Well, we’ll find we’re closer to our goals according to the map, but . . .why do I have a sinking feeling about finding a naked woman I recognize as being an Astra Thessamer analog an some other naked young woman over there?
