"We can understand that," Gilda says. "We will handle the kidnapping and bring Nightfall's children to you. You will only need to see to the transformation side of things."

"So it's you three who have the death wish. Do you realise just how small your chances are?"

"We were hoping that you might be able to give us some magical protection or stealth that would even up the odds a little," Hilda says. "And perhaps provide us with a sedative for use on the children. We wouldn't want them making a din and alerting the dragon to what we were up to. Oh, and something to check that they really are who we think they are."
