The Never Ending Quest - Episode 72916

Astra could not see what good the note would be to the lisard creatures, but Alric seemed very insistent and surely he must have a good reason. There was no time to ask him to elaborate, so she sprang to her feet, fighting off the renewed wave of dizziness that the sudden movement, coupled with her injuries, caused.

The creatures were taken by surprise. Before they could react, she dived past the nearest one and tossed the parchment into the flame. (Luckily it was the other shoulder that she had hurt, or she would have lost a precious second or two by needing to transfer the parchment to her other hand.)

Then she ran for it, knowing that the creatures were unlikely to show any mercy towards her after her show of defiance.

She managed to escape into the darkness.
But before she could take two strides, a lisard tail had sent her crashing once more. This time she hit her head and lost consciousness.
