He looked at her with glazed eyes, as he pondered on the contents of the books. It was a good thing that she could not read his thoughts. Of course, he was too much of a gentleman to put any of those thoughts into action, and in any case none of the techniques that he had learnt from the books was practical when the object of your affections was only three inches tall.
