Breaking Glass

Astra's face fell. But before she could argue, she saw one of the murderous boulders heading towards them across the beach. "Look out!" she cried.

Everyone dived aside. Alex dropped the bottle however, and the boulder ran right over it. There was a sound of breaking glass as the bottle was smashed into tiny fragments. The genie let out a cry of agony and then vanished.

"Oh dear!" Alex said, getting to his feet and brushing sand off himself. "Do you think he's dead?"

"It certainly looks like it," Astra said sadly.

1. Indeed, the genie was no more.
2. The genie had merely taken up residence in a new home.
