There was no immediate sign of Fred, but the library was so large - far
bigger than even the palace library back home - that Astra supposed that
it was possible that he might be hidden behind a stack of shelves
somewhere. Nor could she see anyone else, but it seemed that someone must
be nearby, as when she ;ooked into an annexe that looked as though it was
used as an employees' lounge she saw a coat draped over a chair.
Unfortunately the coat was far too small for her to wear. She guessed that it belonged to a gnome, as it was about the right size. Gnomes made good library staff, in spite of suffering from the handicap of having to use step-ladders to reach the higher shelves. She investigated the coat's pockets in the hope of finding something of use.
