Rei But all that said, let us now learn what dear old Professor Snape learned from ME! No, I did not go and “spill the beans” about my companions here! Give me SOME credit, will you! If this IS my old homeworld they’re stuck in right at the moment I rather doubt they’d appreciate the UN authorities to swoop down upon them for questioning, being who some happen to be analogs of here. I’m sure the UN (and probably SEELE) will have questions about just what in the blazes had happened back in Japan with NERV vanishing like it had. I’d told them to stay laying low and await either for me or for their Iconian Gate to open and leave without me. I know a few techniques that’ll buy them enough time to leave if they try to pry the facts out of me magically (without my leave), so that’s not exactly a worry. I just hope that I am not being extremely foolish in what I am trying to do here. However, even If I fail here I won’t allow them to be captured if the worst case scenario comes to pass. Honestly, I think that if things DO go south here with my plans I may have a 50 percent chances of being able to fight my way free. In addition to spell work (which is actually on PAR with the local brand, taking out the “high tech” Achilles heel factor), I DO happen to have a few “holdout” weapons. Things like the Star Trek phasor (even IF it happens to be the much maligned “dust buster” style I picked up somewhere years ago) can do wonders on walls, making quick work of them. . . . If not accidentally bringing down the roof if one’s unlucky… Let us hope it doesn’t come to that. I just hope that the little “good deeds” I did inadvertently in the course of things I can capitalize upon here soon in negotiations…. And not just playing some part in what eventually lead to what I take as Voldemort and Peter Pettigrew getting their lives snuffed out by what I would say were VERY high caliber bullets. Something along the lines of 50 caliber (aka the assassination weapon of choice of those like the JSSDF and such) if I am not mistaken. . . . In all honesty, I’d rather not deal with the Wizards at all but I fear I will have a better chance of getting what I want from them than from trying to go back to the UN and try THEM. Too risky and too many questions I have to be comfortable at all with the UN… As for Snape and him ranting about muggles mucking up things in his and the Wizarding World’s lives needlessly . . .making their unwanted presence felt . . . . . . Okay, I admit it. His ranting and raving finally got on my nerves and I find I MUST set him straight on a few things! And the best way is to . . . kind of ease into it, but not in a passive fashion. You'll see what I mean here but I DID learn a few things about MY version of this man here while on an exchange program for good will between Terra Prime that particular neighbor. Let us just say this. Too soft and Snape won’t respect you and thus will dismiss anything you say. Too hard and you’ll have him in your face and he’ll Not listen to anything you say. Aha! I see that you’ve been following the propoganda that NERV Public Relations Department kept feeding to the Muggle news network! I smirk, garnering first a befuddled look of befuddlement then a look of annoyance. Snape from what I know of his literary counterpart looked down upon Muggles in general (mostly due to the abuse he suffered as a child from his father, who happened to be a Muggle) but partly due to that one relative of Lily Evans. Or perhaps the Wizarding press somehow got fed similar lines through what the Ministries pumped out in order to keep things calm and not blown sky high from reprisals from SEELE, I continue on. Though from . . . certain sources I have for a view into the Wizarding World of it's news media I would figure it would be MOST distorted indeed. There is this one reporter called Rita Skeeter who I found both in the BOOK and in real life back in the Terra Prime universe to be MOST disagreeable. Terrible, yellow journalist/piece of trash . . . . . . Sorry, had bad experiences with that woman. Left a Very bitter taste in my mouth. Snape smirks a little bit and says something to me as follow up to that last overservation of mine, only to blink a little bit and remember . . . I cannot understand what he’s saying! This entire dialog we’ve been having whilst walking (him, I and the rest of my Auror escort party) had been done mentally up to this point; a fact that poor Snape apparently had gotten so USED to that he'd forgotten that fact and reverted. That last part is true, he finally admits mentally to me through the channels I left open for such communication. Including your assessment at how useful the "Wizarding World" media is at distributing accurate information. Yep, see that the trend holds true. I see that this Snape is as dismissive of the abilities of the news media as the one I am familiar with. So . . .tell me in your words as a to what the reality of these Evangelion Units you piloted, Snape finally says, getting around apparently to one of his tasks assigned to . . . whoever had gone out and reactivated his Order of the Phoenix. I can see that this is more than idle curiosity on his part, though he hide it well on his face. I can feel it's "vibes" (for lack of a better term) in his mental voice. Odd, when you consider how right off upon meeting me he tried to stun me. Maybe he was going to try to use his Legilimency to gleam the answers whilst taking my unconscious form to wherever? Yes, I would just love to hear all about these Angel things and how they all tie together with Instrumentality . . . whatever exactly that is . . . They didn't brief him too deeply when they sent him and the others out, I see. Hm. That and how does all this tie into Second Impact? Snape finishes. I sigh slightly and give Snape a sad look. I shall tell you and what I shall tell will be the truth as far as I know it, I tell him. Mind you, that it shall sound insane in some parts because when you get down to it what SEELE and some of the highest figures I worked for IN NERV could only be called that. It shall be disturbing but this tale MUST be told because . . .someone’s got to pay for it. This tale must be told or else . . . I don’t want to think about it. I’m listening, Snape says, throwing down a challenge as if to DARE me to try to shock him. Oh dear, we’ll see how blasé you’re about this after I finish, dear Professor Snape. But I felt a need to tell this tale, if only to let the rest of the world know who had wronged it. To tell the tale so that those out there responsible would be brought to justice at best . . . Or just stopped dead at worst to just stop them from ever harming us again in yet another mad plan. First, were you aware that those giant “robots” something approaching the size of Godizalla in the old pre-Second Impact movies were not robots at all? I begin. That each and every last one is actually . . . Eh, well. I give him in quick and broad strokes information you could easily find at this one drad online encyclopedia called Wikipedia: http://en. wikipedia .org/ wiki /Evang elion _%28m echa% 29. Coached in magical terms he’s more used to, of course. Arcane knowledge that have been proven, again and again in mage labs all over the Wizarding World, just used in colloraries that have been never conceieved of before (but are clear enough once you look at them, for a Wizard anyway). Interesting enough (if a bit of a headache for me), but to use mere Muggle technical terms would take . . . Much longer than I have. If only because he'd argue and sneer to much to be worth it. Still, it makes an impression on him. Oh, what? You wanted the entire conversation? Well, while I am flattered in your interest I fear that I shall skip. Let us just say that it rather flabbergasts Snape with that alone. The thought that Muggles should be actually capable of doing such things . . . Fear he, like so many of the Wizarding World at large suffers from the “head burried in the sand” syndrome. If it is Muggle then it’s not worth looking into or serious consideration. Let us just say, dear professor, it is time for me to explain to you just how frelling SERIOUS things have been for us Muggles. You have my sympathy and understanding about SEELE keeping the Wizarding World out of things, but the attitude? Gotta go! Then I move onto the part covering what Second Impact actually was all about: http:// en.w ikiped ia.or g/wik i/Neon _Gene sis_Eva ngel ion_g loss ary#S econ d_Impa ct Tell his exactly what this “Instrumentality” business is about: http:// en.wikiped ia.org /wiki/ Human _Instrum entality _Project . . . Needless to say THAT does not at all sit well with him. Even as hardened as he is to a lot of things, this is kind of . . . Out there. Some of it is not as fantastic as it would have been for a Muggle, what with the fantastic being presented in a matter of fact manner in the book (and everything ELSE I’ve seen in passing which makes me firmly believe that things are here at least enough for the books to be . . . .useful). This is something well beyond him, however. How exactly I needn’t state so shan’t. Still, that and I think what MOST disgusts him about the thought of Instrumentality is that with everyone being combined into a hyper being (all mental barriers removed and individuality destroyed) . . . Is the thought of Harry Potter and him . . . Oh good god no, I hear him say to himself, shuddering. Not me and that brat . . . God no. Yeah, I hear you on that one, Professor Snape! Whether or not this particular Snape is just like the one found in the Harry Potter series or not, I can relate to that sentiment he expressed! Bleh! Honestly, while I don’t actively HATE the “Boy Who Lived” there were a LOT of things that made me . . .not take to him mind, body and soul. The one I am familiar with was at times . . .full of himself. That and full of it like boys his age often are. . . . Um, right. He calms down a bit after I remind him about just how SEELE (and Commander Gendo Akari) needed the EVA units in order to bring about Third Impact. To bring about Instrumentality they NEEDED the EVA units to be functional. Something that the news articles Dr. Ritsuko Akagi sent along with everything else in our last contact in the Muggle media are out of out of order (and thus Earth was in dire straights indeed if yet another alien (codenamed Angel) should attack. Not that any more will come, what with them all having been neutralized in one fashion or another (here or at the very last by a lightning blast over in the OTHER planet NERV found itself teleported into). Utterly false, Earth being vulnerable to attack from Angels since no MORE are about (cannot because their S2 organs destruct in a spectacular fashion now) and with even the remains of both the Angel Adam and Angel Lilith gone from this world? No reason for them to even look our way. And from what a VERY relieved Snape says as much as well had been reported in HIS news media as well. Well, not the part about the S2 organs and such, but . . . You get the idea. He apparently has no more questions for me and we are almost to our destination. That is something I am happy to see because while I told him all this for a reason (beyond satisfying simple curiosity), there are some things I don’t feel like sharing. Things like my true nature and what unwitting part I was to have play in all this before my transfiguration. Things like my orgins and nature (http:/ /en.wikipe dia.org /wiki/ Rei_Ayanami #Origins _and_ nature. I don’t have to explain to him I happened to have been a highly modified clone of Yui Akari. Did not have to explain as such I had been created to not only pilot one of the only weapon systems capable of defeating the Angels (a thing I only at first stoically accepted but under the association with both Shinji Akari and Fred Takahashi I began to take great pride in) but to play a key role in Gendo and Yui Akari’s own mad visions for mankind. The last which I STILL resent MOST, thank you VERY MUCH!! . . . Forgive me. I still find I get filled with anger over it and fear it shall be a LONG time before I can ever fully forgive them as a good Christian should….
