So Fred and Brin shared their first kiss in a violin store. The
storekeeper, who looked almost, but not quite exactly like Humphrey Bogart,
watched them with an enigmatic smile. "Of all the fiddle shops, in all the towns, in all the world, they kiss in mine," he muttered over his breath. "Play it, Sam." Sam, a young violinist who happened to be standing nearby testing a Stradivarius that she (this particular Sam happened to be a female, her full name was Samantha) considered buying for part of a royal grant, which is quite a bit more exposition than strictly needed, thank you very much - Sam set the instrument firmly under her chin, raised the bow and started playing. In a typical Hollywood moment other violinists who happened to be testing instruments nearby - including a punk rocker who was beating it against a brick wall to test its durability - joined in, and within a few beats the whole store was playing
