Astra brought her hand up to her chin. Sure enough, what had been a couple of inches of growth was now fully six inches long. "You're right," she said.

"And your voice is a lot deeper too. I think you're becoming a dwarf woman. Before you check, you still have all your curves, though. I didn't think that dwarf women were supposed to have any, though I've never seen one in the flesh."

Just then, the torch went out again. When the light returned:

1. Facing them was an old man in black robes. "Belboz the necromancer at your service," he said. "Are you responsible for what's happened to me?" Astra said, in her now bass (and rather angry) voice.
2. Astra found that her worst fear had been realised. She had somehow been transported into a circus freak show. There was no sign of Fred.
3. Nothing at first seemed to have changed.
