The Never Ending Quest - Episode 70013

It had been enough to make HIM take a few steps back in surprise!

And pretty soon, more than a few OTHER people are stepping back in surprise when Harry Potter and the rest pop back into reality at Hogswart. Oh, some are shocked at the dead bodies that got pulled along (ugly bullet wound exits). Some, like as fate would have it happened to be the nearest to those who'd just reappeared-- are delighted and happy to see that both Harry and Cederic are arrived. . . .

"Thank God that . . . oh my God," whispers one Cornelius Fudge.

Some are more than a bit rattled than what should be accounted for than just the strange appearance of one blue winged and red eyed young woman!

"Rei Ayanami, the Pilot of Zerogouki," Fudge whispers in horror, using the Japanese version of that mecha that the blue haired teenager had piloted. THE very Unit that THIS woman before him piloted. He'd studied the files on her enough times to recognize the woman, despite certain . . . changes. It could have been some kind of prank. Some kind of hoax. A student with a sick sense of humor, but then again . . . why and how would a student know to make such a joke? "What in God's name are you doing back? You and everyone from Nerv in Japan vanished into thin air?!"

Official word in muggle media was that some kind accident similar to what had happened to that one Nerv facility over in that desert in the US ( http://en. wikipedia. org/wiki /Neon_ Genesis_ Evangelion _glossary #NERV- 02). He himself knew that that was a load. The entire place had been switched with what appeared to be a different landscape. With different vegetation . . . and different people. Some of those people not found outside of the Wizarding World for centuries!

They were staying to themselves, disoriented at finding themselves here. However, all request (and thinly veiled orders) to join up with the Wizarding World were refused (sometimes over the point of a sword or other arcane weapon). Attempts to force the issue . . . had been messy.

So far, none of the muggles had stumbled across them. Not stumbled across the "real" truth. Hell, up until now Fudge had been of the opinion that the truth would never be found. The exact happenings after that one operative (a Ryoji Kaji if he recalled correctly) had gone to the Japanese government was a mystery. Did the military assets do something in the course of things in capturing NERV that caused something to go haywire? Something within those strange weapons of mass destruction to malfunction in the power play?

Why is the First Child here, now?

Why was she older now?

Why the wings? It wasn’t like she was an actual Angel! His card readings had said that the threat had passed, thank God!

But now?

He'd better get them now, but . . . He did not want to do it via normal methods of operation that wizards do with muggles. She deserved . . . better than that. At least for the moment, anyway.

Ignoring the returned boys for the moment. Ignoring the rather grisly bodies that had for whatever reasons come along with them, he instead concentrates on the blue haired woman before him.

"Rei Ayanami?" Fudge called out, trying to approach her slowly as to not startle her. Try to keep her from running away and making things . . . er . . . difficult. Judging from the way her wings were twitching it looked as if she was ready to bolt.

Frowning a bit, he tries to drag up some Japanese phrases that would convey his requests and such. He HAD visisted Japan so long ago. All before Second Impact for a vacation or some such, but . . .it was so long ago.

So much had changed since then, however. Bloody! Even that seaside village he had visited was now well and truly underwater from the melting of the polar icecap, but that was hardly important.

As it stood, from the looks of it he hesitated too long. She doesn't stay long enough to answer any of the questions. Doesn't actually RUN away from here (not that she'd get too far on foot), but she does stay long enough for answers. She does give him a somewhat surprised look, as if to ask how he should know her. THEN she smiled slightly and shrugs before correcting him

  1. "Rei Ayanami Quatermain," she corrects him before taking off straight up into the air. Apparently, those wings were more functional than what Cornelius Fudge had expected. That and much quicker....
