Josh signs the paperwork, giggles, and runs away. A suspicious Mr. Sof
looks at the paperwork, and is surprised to find out that Josh had
scrawled Mr. Sof very sloppily on the line at the bottom of the
page. Mr. Sof sighs. He knew that due to a technicality in the rulebook that no one had been bothered to change despite its discovery in 1973, he would have to take what was intended as Josh's punishment. The odd rule decreed that whoever's name was signed on an official write-up form would be the one punished for the crime. Fast fact: This is why Richard Nixon was forced to resign from office in 1974. During the 1973-74 season of The Never Ending Quest, the main character, Johnny Bob Harrison, discovered this rule while researching the official handbook of NEQ on a day off. J.B. was a notorious critic of Nixon, and he immediately got himself in serious trouble the following day. He laughed as he signed Nixon's name to the form and walked away. The NEQ officials knew it was a farce, but they had no other choice, and they set the ball in motion that led to Nixon's resignation. So now you know! Mr. Sof walked off to accept what he knew was a punishment that he did not deserve. How would he be punished for Josh's misbehavior?
