What Demifox Synizn knows of the situation (part 6)

The Never Ending Quest - Episode 6959

"That's right," Demifox Synizn nods. "When a few of these dimbulbs were laughing at how silly they'd been, but perhaps the local versions of the furries namely those who are or were lycanthropes seemed to be cut from the same....cloth as their idiotic fantasies. Several Military Grunts overheard this, took offense and attempted to....teach the Starfleet pukes the errors of their ways.... as Inquirer told me."

What was it that caused it, initially? the former dragon asks himself. They saw that the Manimals had animal like, digitigrade feet, a decided....er....lack of lots of clothing, and a unfortunate history of being descended from creatures who came under the....er....baser instincts of the beast within during the full moon before becoming fully a new race and in control of themselves...always. What makes an idiot so....stupid? I guess....stupidity is universal.

The Military, initially dismissive of the inhabitants of Terra, had grown to respect and admire the locals. The power that magic could command had humbled some of the more bombastic of them, and earned the inhabitants a grudging respect. While not as advanced in technology as the Golems were, the Terrans skill in magic...and magic's potential as shown when the Crystallics healed the ozone layer in one fell swoop....had done that much. Also, as the tale of what happened below became more well known to those of the Military, the Golems suddenly saw within the Terrans a sense of....something that they wished was more present back Home than what it was now.

The Astras, Freds, demifoxes (including Demifox Synizn), and Manimals had gotten a following, and NOBODY was going to make rude jokes about something that had happened BEYOND their control, in the past, while THE MILITARY was around!

"And of course that led to hard feelings," Fred chuckled ruefully. "And being that half of the Marquis makes up the Voyager crew and that group HAD been fighting an empire that was very militaristic in nature....they naturally assumed that the Military was no better. Of course the Military is the way it is because something akin to an allergic reaction to conditions back at their Home, if you will."

"True, though for a while I had my doubts...honesty," the mage puts in. "After all, they had threatened to blow up the shield over Atlantis.... But when you remember that this war with the Lizards was to the death.....for the death of the opponent....the survival of billions of humans....."

"At least they apologized for it....and kept their end of their promises and then some," Fred nodded. "They didn't have to, you know...."

The wagon train rides on into the evening as three grown ups contemplate how things could have turned out differently....
