What Demifox Synizn knows of the situation (part 2)

The Never Ending Quest - Episode 6955

"Now the Borg Collective is...or was a race of cybernetic people hell bent on taking within themselves everything and everyone NOT of the Collective and transforming them into one of themselves. The Borg Collective was a machine hive mind, ruled by a Borg Queen. The Borg were very powerful, and while based within the Delta Quadrant, which was 75 years away from the Federation in the Alpha Quadrant of the Milky Way, had some way of being able to reach Federation space. The Voyager wanted nothing to do with the Borg, despite the faster means of getting home the Borg possessed, for obvious reasons.

"Then, a wildcard came into the picture, Species 8472. It was a race of aliens from yet another universe that the Borg, seeking out to assimilate others who dwelled within the realms of subspace - a realm that I and a few other dragon mages have glimpsed within our scrying of other worlds but had the good sense NOT to bother....being it was just too risky since those realms were so ALIEN - tried to assimilate 8472, and found these aliens weren't easy meat. In fact, the aliens came our from their realm, and began to spank the Borgs metallic ass! All good and well, except the aliens viewed all those NOT of their kind as something to be exterminated."

"Oops," Fred comments, clucking at the horses to pick up the pace a bit.

"So it lead to an unlikely alliance between the Voyager and the Borg," Demifox Synizn sighed. "The Voyager had concocted a means to be able to drive back 8472, saving the whole of the galaxy from a menace WORSE than the Borg. In exchange for saving the Borg's ass, the Borg would grant save passage through it's space. Safegaurds were made to make sure that the Borg kept their end of the bargain by being ready to destroy utterly the means of destroying the means of the Borg's salvation. 8472 was driven off, and of course the Borg tried to renege on their promise, but Voyager manage to get away from the Borg by the actions of one of the crewmembers, a Kes, who'd been one of the Caretaker's wards. Kes had been evolving into a higher life form, and managed to be able to hurtle the Voyager forward a whole five years worth of travel closer home (and away from the Borg who were trying to capture the ship). Kes stayed behind, doing....whatever higher life forms like she'd become do....but the Voyager had picked up another crewmember: Seven of Nine.

"Seven of Nine, who's background story we needn't go into since I could write a book about it, had been chosen by the Borg Collective as a spokesperson for the Borg so as to better facilitate the smooth working of Borg and Voyager resources and such. Seven had attempted to take over the Voyager when the Borg reneged on their agreement, but the Voyager managed to separate Seven's connection to the Borg. Seven wasn't too happy about all this, and about the fact that the ship's Doctor, a cybernetic person/holograph, had been forced to remove much of her Borg implants in order to save her life (leaving her looking like this....in the end)."

With a wave of his hand and a few spoken words, a small image of the silver jumpsuit clad blond woman that many Star Trek: Voyager fans were familiar with (and had....dreams about), formed. Fred looked over and glanced back, dismissively.

"Doesn't hold a candle to my wife," Fred sniffed, earning him a kiss from Astra.

Still, she's not bad looking for a human....despite that metallic band she has over one of her eyebrows there. the Demifox mage thinks to himself before dismissing the image.

"Before, she looked like this," the demifox continues, forming an image of Seven of Nine as she had looked when Captain Janeway had first laid eyes upon her. Astra and Fred gasp in shock at the still admittedly female form Seven had, but......

The woman was so pale, and had so many cybernetic machines attacked to her, that Astra and Fred had to applaud this Doctor in his skills at restoring Seven to what Demifox Synizn had shown them before!

"The Borg....don't get out in the sun much!" Astra says, shivering.

"Apparently," the demifox agrees before continuing.

"Anyway, the newest crewmember was finally getting used to being assimilated into the crew of the Voyager," Demifox Synizn continues. "The crew was getting to trust her, when.....an analog of Seven of Nine showed up!"

  1. The analog tried to wrest control of the ship away from the crew, but only ended up managing to crash the Voyager into a nearby Terra like world.
