IN the view of it all....

"Enjoy yourself?" Fred softly asks the small demifox mages, smiling at his rather unusual companion.

"By Tiamat, I did!" ethuses back, just as quietly (so as to better not awaken the sleeping infants). "Never knew that such simple things....would touch me so!"

"Aye, that 'tis true enough," Astra put in, putting her blouse back in order after finally finishing feeding her last baby. "I never thought that motherhood would hold anything of interest, but....."

"And Lord knows that when I set out to slay the dragon of the Southern Cavern," Fred chuckled as he steers the horse team. "Lord knows I never thought I'd end up wed to such a lovely woman and father to seven! Never thought I'd end up....with it so good."

They all chuckle ruefully, silently acknowledging that their lives had changed in ways that were unexpected....but were incredibly pleasing nonetheless. Even suddenly finding themselves on another version of their homeworld was proving to be something wonderful, in it's own way (witness their wagon train trip).

They sure as heck felt like they were doing SOMETHING good and just....feeling like they were doing something that was making a difference!

After a shared moment of silent camaraderie, when Astra finally breaks the silence.

"Syni....Demifox Synizn," Astra corrected herself, remembering that the little mage was a bit of a stickler about his name. He was no longer Synizn, for he'd been Renamed (re: 2387, and looked very hurt when Astra or Fred failed to remember that). "We heard a few....er....things about this one ship....and a few things that that ship's crewmates said. Since you might....."

"Since Sigin Vulpine was somehow involved I might be able to tell you what happened?" the mage guess, seeing the Amazon warrior nod. There was a....fire in her eyes, and Demifox Synizn knew well....that rumors of some of the less .....complimentary things had filtered down. Astra looked ready to go forth and show some righteous anger upon some of the starship Voyager's dunderhead!

"Ah yes, I can indeed," nods the demifox mages, tail swishing as he remembers what he had heard.

1. "But to have a better understanding," Demifox Synizn tells his audience as the wagon heads into what used to be Allaria. "You've got to understand just what the devil they've been through."
