Although she had only seen herself reflected in the window of the subway
train, Stacy
was in no doubt that the appearance of the comic book heroine was based on
her own.
"Mistake" appeared on the cover
of several books, and there was also a three inch high figurine of her
standing between
the books. Not surprisingly, perhaps, Mistake was a little more voluptuous
than Stacy
herself, something made obvious by her (Mistake's) apparent liking for
skintight
outfits, but even so the overall resemblance was remarkable. Stacy wasn't
sure whether to be pleased or annoyed. And that name! Why "Mistake"?
It didn't seem to suggest a very efficient superheroine.
