asked. "As cave systems go, this one doesn't seem too bad. It's not cold,
it's dry, and the rock underfoot is smooth, which must be a relief to
those of you who are barefoot. And somehow, it's not all that dark. It's
almost like magic."
"That's what's worrying some of us," Ardua said. "We have recently spent some time in a cave system with just those characteristics. It seems likely that it's the same place." "And?" human Sara said. "And it was home to all sorts of nasties," Diana said. "Chief among them was a dragon mage who could transform himself into a human . Or he might have been a human mage who could transform himself into a dragon. Most of us were his prisoners and servants." "But we killed him," Annie objected. "So we did. But there are all the other evil things that lurk here for us to worry about."
