People laughed and chuckled as the monkey entered the room. It looked at
them curiously then produced a throwing axe and hurled it at the King's
head, missing by inches. Then the monkey darted toward Fred's coffin.
There were screams now, as several knights blocked the monkey's path with
swords drawn, but it scampered around their slashes and leapt onto Fred's
coffin. And then the monkey exploded into flames. Flames so hot that Fred's coffin burst apart and his burning body sat up, the way bodies do when exposed to extreme heat. People were running now, and screaming, as the silk curtains nearby exploded into flames too...
"I need answers," King Emry was saying. "Who would dare defile our hero's funeral?" "Our agents are searching for the outlander knight," Duke Zular said, his expression expressionless. "He dared expel gas in your presence just before the attack occured, so he is the prime suspect. Unfortunately, he escaped in the confusion, while everyone was busy putting out the fire." "Sire!" cried a wounded, arrow-riddled messenger, falling off a horse as he rode up. "The southern provinces are in chaos! Thousands of refugees are fleeing from the Dragon's attacks while orc and goblin tribes raid along the heartland! We need the help of the Knights, now!" "Aaaaauugh!!" screamed one of the King's counselors, storming into the room. "Hespania has declared war against us! Their armies started marching six days ago to avenge the Feast of Perjury! In our Army's current state we are doomed! Doomed!!" "My Lord!" howled a bloodied Knight crawling through the open door. "Enemy agents! They have kidnapped the Princess! I tried to stop them but they were too strong... aaaugh, everything is gettin dark..." King Emry thought about this and said:
