Our heroes knew that, unarmed and outnumbered, they would have no chance against the slavers. Exotica's magic was unreliable, and she knew that even if her spell happened to work she could take out at most one or two of the men before being overpowered. And that would no doubt lead to unpleasant reprisals. They would have to bide their time until a better opportunity for escape arose.

Their hands were tied together behind their backs, their left ankles were shackled to a length of chain, and then they were marched out of the caves and a short further distance to the slavers' camp. There, their hands were briefly untied so that their armour and boots could be removed. [63512]

  1. That gave them a chance to overpower their guards and escape.
  2. Now wearing only their underthings, they were sent on a journey to the nearest slave market. Slavery was illegal in both Allaria and Aqualaria, but some other countries were less fussy.
