Up Jumped the Devil

"Dude, what in the hell are you doing?! How can you just sit there and write on those papers when you know we're going to be crashing into something? HOW?"

Josh pauses from his paperwork. "I'm legally changing my name to something a little more masculine. I was thinking 'Frank'. Think about it, Scott. Doesn't Frank Burbank sound a little better than what I've got now?"
"I can't believe you, Josh! You drive us off a cliff, and all you want to think about is changing your name?! Aren't there more important things to worry about right now?"
"What's the problem, Scott? Didn't you change most of your name before we met? I know for a fact your last name really wasn't 'Chen'. Besides, you keep getting embarrassed and changing the subject every time I ask you what caused you to change your name!"

Scott begins to blush. He knew exactly what led him to change his own name, and how it was a reflection of his mental state at the time, but he was not ready to talk about why he abandoned most of his birth name all those years ago.

"T-that's different, Josh," Scott finally mumbles. "Besides, we have something more important to worry about!"

1. "No, we don't!" retorts Josh.
2. The virtual reality simulation ends, and the boys get out, still arguing about changing names.
3. Suddenly...up jumped the devil.
