The Rooster Has Come Home to Roost!

The Never Ending Quest - Episode 6640

Ensign James Chen, Vixen Captain Janeway, and Human Captain Janeway appeared on the transporter. Their counterparts from the other Voyager say little beyond official greetings....and the situation is very tense until a bit after a long, uncomfortable time within the Ready Room. Several dozen attempts to break the ice fail.

Attempts to open with talks about how both ships and all aboard each one of them have the SAME quantum signature.

Q, perhaps?

Finally, as the story of what unfolded to the Voyager that had landed on Terra and had been helped by the Military a creeping dread finally dawns upon the Voyager inhabitants who had been able to return to the Alpha Quadrant.

"My god," Ensign Scott Chen whispers hoarsely, turning pale. "They're the ones from the Sir Toby game we've been playing aboard ship!"

Their counterparts look at him in askance, and Scott's Vixen Janeway explains how, while searching for a means of entertainment while taking a short cut through the center of the No Preserver Universe.....there had been a strange text based game that had mysteriously appeared in the Voyager's computer. Nobody had ever stepped forward to claim responsibility for it's creation, but nothing was thought of it (it had prove to be a bit entertaining). It had also been a source of controversy when somebody had written a story thread that cast a less than favorable light upon what had been thought to be a fictitious version of themselves with an alliance of parallel Earths fighting for survival against an implacable....unreasonable reptilian race known as the Enemy.

James Chen looked around, awaiting for Q or some other prankster to show up, to tell the punch line to this obvious joke.

Nothing. Nobody just popped into existence to explain.....to laugh at them.

Probably because the Rule who governed this Universe had reached out and snuffed out each and every last Q entity for "endangering the cause of order." Q had indeed duplicated the Voyager, and was going to pop on in with some type of challenge..... along with a snippy attitude. Rule 4578 had no feelings, but had finally grown....tired of this foolishness with a "godlike" race who said they were trying to play stewardship to the universe....but in actuality were the authors of this and more disasters. The Q were now officially extinct and off limits to this and a few billion other universes.

But those on the Voyagers didn't know this...nor ever would.

Quick scans proved that the dreaded Phage was about, but held in check by another mysterious hybrid of science and magic. The Phage was no longer a threat to anyone...not even the Enemy (for they were....gone).

Besides, it wasn't like the Star Fleeters could DO anything to effect the Phage in any way, shape, or form. They had been powerless in halting the metamorphoses of Human Ensign Solomon with the magical disease/curse of demifox lycanthropy. The Phage was well and away even more perplexing...and unfathomable.

Uncomfortable silence.

Finally, Human Janeway of Scott Chen's Voyager speaks.

  1. Her curiousity finally gets the better of her, for she always wanted to find out just what the *#$& had happened between Captain Sterndeck and the other Janeways!
