"I bet that Astra would agree to go with me," Exotica said. Though very
different in temperament, she and the Aqualarian princess - who
conveniently happened to be visiting Allaria - were good
friends. "Together, we'd have a good chance, especially as I'm a lot
better magician than you give me credit for. And of course Astra's a great
warrior, better than any of those useless knights that you've sent."
"But you're my only daughter. It was sad enough all those knights getting killed, but I'd be heartbroken if the same thing should happen to you." Like all daughters, Exotica could wrap her father round her little finger. He took a great deal of persuading, but eventually he said: "Very well, you may go, but only if Princess Astra will go with you."
