There is an awkward pause. Then, Josh and Scott hear back from whoever it
is they're talking to at Control:
"Sledgehammer One, this is Control, copy."
"We copy," says Scott.
"Sledgehammer One, we...are confused. We're pretty sure the mission you
were sent on is now over, and you were expected back at base over three
hours ago. Over."
"It isn't over! In fact, it's only just beginning!"
"Sledgehammer One, all other craft in the Sledgehammer fleet has reported
back and the mission has more or less been accomplished. We do not
understand why you are still out there."
"Well, flyboy, neither do we!" Scott snaps, shutting off the intercom.
With the distraction of a confused and unseen superior now out of the way,
Josh and Scott fly off in Sledgehammer One to make history!

Back at Control, people begin to freak out at Sledgehammer One's apparent rebellion.
