Fred stabbed the impostor, though it was a near thing. It was one solid
blow, but it almost missed as Fred was stunned by a powerful bolt of deja-
vu. Had this happened before? Impossible, Fred thought, as his sword
struck a vital part (barely). Blood flew. Magical energies tore at the grounding, shredding stone and dirt. Mystical voices screamed in frustration and childishness as they were denied the meal of knight they were promised. After the chaos, Velus uses his canine nose to find the real Deidra, who had been locked up nearby. She was still a feline, but enough of her human essence had remained for Velus to do her thing. (Velus' human mind had recorded scents over the years, much like all human minds do. It was only being turned canine that allowed him to access these memories). Fred and the others travel back to the room with the animals, only to discover them all gone. It had all been a trap to ensnare Fred. The group continues on, skirting the site of the battle with the impostor. They enter a small chamber, lined with many porcelain bowls. Velus informs the others there is stinky poo at the bottom of the bowls. A look reveals that no, there are just pipes leading away. All three are confused as to the purpose of this room. (Deidra could now communicate with Fred as the Magical Aether liked to adjust itself to those of nobillity. This is why there are so few evil wizards, as the Aether was more difficult to work with if one was evil). There is a small door on the far side of the room.
