That said, I must bite my tongue right now to avoid laughing as Dr. Akagi is suddenly realizing just who will be giving my group's brief. Honestly, Rei deserves this time in the limelight (and seeing Akagi fidget a bit). . .

Somehow she seems to feel it is beneath her dignity to be lectured to by somebody less than half her age, it appears. She doesn't voice it, but I see it.

Well, as long as she doesn't get TOO snippy about it in her questions I'll let it stand. Rei's doing a fine job in handling it all very well: the presentation AND Dr. Akagi.

Hey, in the end I guess I should have foreseen the real coming brewup here between the bottle blonde woman, Evangelion staff and who she takes REAL issue over... Later...

Hrmph, okay. I am sure by now you' will be wanting to know what THAT nonsense was about just a few moments ago.

Sigh, I guess I should have realized this was coming. After all, my sister had told me that with the shift needed in the scheme of things of my old world to fit within the framework of this new reality it finds itself in means that . . . something had to change. If it had not been for the proximity of my new family's arrival I know that I would not have even a slight clue that something was amiss. Granted, at the time I had been . . . concerned about other things (one thing after another. . . .good God)!

Now that things have finally settled down a bit I finally noticed it. Oh, as far as I can figure it the methodology of the more "mundane" sciences and physics have not changed for my world and for those who practice it. However, a feeling I have inside when I look about and actually THINK about it tells me that everything that went into and grew out off the fields of "science" for the EVA units (Project E) has changed.

B'Elanna said something about it being more akin to "techno-magery" (a blend of science and MAGIC) not quiet anything she'd ever heard of before now.

That said, that is why we're having something of a tiff between the those of the USS Enterprise (who sadly enough have lives that reflect what I STILL see as a TV show that failed to live up to it's full potential due to sub-par acting)

Stop staring! I did see a few episodes of that slock show, just out of a distant curiosity to see what the big deal was about it. Didn't interest me then and I find that I do not still find interest in it.

The real life version is more . . . engaging than the TV version but that's by the by.

Anyway, there is this difference of . . . .er . . .opinion between the Star Trek folks and and my old group. Those of the USS Enterprise, already a bit on edge from all that had befallen them, feel like Dr. Akagi and the rest of NERV are pulling their leg with their "mumbo jumbo" theories. Dr. Akagi and the others feel that they're methodical enough and scientific enough (and perhaps even MORE so) than those of the Enterprise feel very insulted by the shouts of outrage from the Star Trekkers (who Dr. Akagi says is nothing but "soft scifi at best") and . . .

"These people at this version of NERV are getting on my nerves," one of the techs from the Dawntreader I overhear muttering to a companion at her side

Well, I must say that my sister must have learned MUCH from her time with my new parents and the rest of her . . .

Myself, I feel still more than a bit . . . uncomfortable around large crowds. That is one of the reasons that I, back when I was just Rei Ayanami avoided crowds. Avoided being the center of attention.

Avoided companionshiop, period. Gee, wonder why I always felt lonely? Then again I had been pretty much led about by the nose by Commander Gendo Akari, raised by HIM to avoid companionship since my . . .

OH, why am I having an anxiety over such things? After all, did I not get over (at least mostly) not having been brought INTO this world in a normal fashion? I may not have been entirely . . .

Heh, well, after being "De-Angelfied" as Dr. McCoy affirmed to the UN representatives here, I guess I shall not have to threat about whether or not I qualify as human, eh? Wings aside, the Lilith part of my DNA had been replaced by purely human genetic material. And even IF I was still a nelphin, I wouldn't have any need to worry about my legitmacy as a person, for Mother Lilith's sake!!

My new family is made up of elves, dragons, and some extra terrestrial (half human on the mother's side) called a Galifreyian, for goodness sake!! Who needs an existiential crisis with that fact on the floor?!

But as for problems with my former mixed heritage . . .

Nice to have a figure from Star Trek to assure nervous authority figures that I no longer pose a threat in as far as Third Impact goes.

Ahem, anyway...

What my sister did was quote from an old pre-Second Impact play about there being more under the stars than their philosphies. . . words to that effect anyway.

Actually, to be pedantic she was --according to Chiana--quoting a line from a work of literature that Sigin did. I THINK she was joking but . . .

But whatever the case she and those who had been up this point been quietly trying to get the others here to see reason and WORK together managed to do that. Get the Enterprise folks and my folks to WORK together. Enough to be able to have a basic understanding of what the G- man will be talking about here in a bit....

THAT is, of course, when the first indication that the meeting between the heads of the Enterprise and the others went well enough to where Rei Quatermain's is considered complete.

Those within the room start hearing voices...of a young girl and an older woman....

1. "Mother?" Dr. Akagi gasps, hearing the older woman's voice and recognizing it instantly.
