Indeed it was Belboz. The necromancer needed the precious metals for his
more powerful and potent spells. Especially the longevity one. If it
wasn't for Fred trying to find a suitable weapon to throw at one of his
tormentors, then it would never have come to light as the red dragon's
hoard was so vast. Not that the dragon could do much about it. Red dragons were not exactly designed for stealth. Even the slightest sound would be amplified as it echoed off of cavern walls. Belboz would have plenty of warning. Still, though the red dragon didn't know it, the leaching of his hoard would soon come to an end. Permanently. The showdown between Jereld and Belboz was fast approaching. Jereld might take Belboz's crown, but he had no intention in making the caves his new home. Once he was satisfied with his control over his new powers, he would return back to his own land. Belboz had heard the red dragon's roar of outrage. He paid it no heed, having heard it on and off over the decades. He had more important things to concern himself with, especially with the alignment of the planets, what, a mere matter of hours away? A few more incantations, and another gold bar was made worthless right before the eyes of the two dragons.
