The Red Potion

"Because more often than not, they're designed to do ill rather than good. Plus, even if your potion is a 'good' potion, it may still have harmful effects if you're not the species/gender/age/disease-victim that the potion was designed for," the man answered. "And, of course, if you take into account the fact that potions (especially red ones) tend to mutate and change over relatively short periods of time...well, all in all, it's very difficult to find any potion whose effects will be truly predictable." The man nodded his head thoughtfully, as if to imply to the listener that he was quite the expert in all things potions.

"I see," said Astra, who hoped desperately for this man to shut up and leave. Suddenly, she hiccuped.

The man appeared to notice this hiccup and got a very worried look on his face. "What's happening?" he asked.

"Oh, dear," responded Astra. "I think I know what the potion is doing to me..."

1. ...It's slowly regressing my age."
2. ...It's - hee-haw - turning me into an ass."
3. ...It's giving me the worst case of flatulence I've ever had."
4. ...Mother of God, no! I'm going to fall madly in love with the next person I lay my eyes on!." (Astra closes her eyes very tightly to avoid seeing the annoying man.)
