Surprise Ambush

"SHH!" Nerozi hissed at Synthlika. "I can hear something... people... coming."

"I do not hear anything, N. It's probably just your imagination." Fred told Nerozi as if the ranger had no of what he was talking about.

"Never tell a ranger that what they hear is just their imagination, Fred." Astra told Fred quickly, "If 'Rozi says they're coming, they're coming."

Shard turned to Nerozi, "Which direction?" He asked.

"The way we're facing. Ready yourself, friends." The group followed Nerozi's order quickly. Fred, Astra and Synthlika all readied their respective melee weapons, Nerozi set up the arrows in his longbow, and Shard got out his stave. The melee fighters stayed in a concentrated group so Nerozi and Shard would not accidentally hit one of their friends.

"I hear them." Synthlika noted.

The others nodded.

"Friend or foe?" Astra asked.

"Can't tell... I'm guessing foe. Why would there be an army in a cave?" Nerozi replied.

The group nodded one last time. The battle was coming.

1. The creatures making the noise were men in leather armour.
2. The creatures making the noise were a group of the dragon's demon minions.
3. The creatures that were making the noise were a strange race of flail wielding spider-people.
