Through the Turnstiles

To get to the shops, Stacy was going to have to get through the
turnstiles. Fortunately there
was an attendant overseeing them. Stacy went up to him and put on her
best "little girl
lost" expression. "I'm afraid I seem to have mislaid my ticket," she told
him. "That's
OK," he said. "If you give me the cost of the ticket, that'll be
fine." "The ticket
was in my bag. And the reason I've mislaid my ticket is that I've mislaid
my bag. And my
money was in the bag." Stacy had no idea how much of that was true, of
course.
"I see. Well, if you'll fill in this form for me, then we can reclaim the fare from you later." So Stacy filled in the form, inventing a name and address for herself, and gave it back to the attendant. Then he gave her a form to fill in for reclaiming her lost bag, should it turn up, and finally let her through.
