Sister Sharon stood above the fallen brigand, panting and exhausted, her
white robes wet, torn and stained from her arduous climb down the cliff
face. A large tree branch was in her hands, which she had used to great
effect in felling the brigand leader. She had arrived, it seemed, just in
the nick of time.
"Sharon!" Fred and Tarsa exclaimed almost simultaneously. Sharon dropped the branch and immediatley ran over to Tarsa, removing her own outer robe and draping it over the shivering, naked priestess. Sharon was left standing in her short, sleevless undergarment. "Tarsa, are you alright?" "I'm...okay, Sister Sharon." Tarsa said shakily. "Thank Granas for that!" Sharon replied, exhaling. Fred struggled to his feet, clutching at the wound in his shoulder, blood pouring over his hand and dripping onto the ground. He used his geoblade as a makeshift cane to support himself. Sharon made her way back over to Fred. "Sister, I..." SMACK! Fred was totally unprepared for the almighty slap that Sharon delivered to his face, and staggered backwards, rubbing his chin. "How dare you!" she hissed. "Skye told me what happened! Tarsa was under the evil enchantment of Valmar. That's what caused her to jump. You, young geohound, have no excuse! How did you plan to help her by killing yourself?" she finished. Fred could see tears beginning to form in the young woman's eyes. "I...I...just, please, don't tell Tarsa." "Hmph! And why shouldn't I?" Tarsa, by this point, had made her way over to them. "What are you two arguing about?" "Nevermind." Sharon said. "The important thing is that you're safe, Tarsa. We need to get you back to the temple as soon as possible." Tarsa glanced over at the fallen bandit leader. "Is he..." "He's still alive." Fred confirmed. Unfortunately, he mentally added. "It'll be getting dark soon. We can't climb back up the waterfall cliff, we need to find another path back up. I suggest we find shelter, before this guy wakes up, or something unpleasant takes an interest in us." Fred grimaced as he continued to clutch at his wound. Tarsa noticed the blood flow for the first time. "Dear Granas! Are you alright Fred!? That wound..." "Never better, Tarsa" Fred lied. "Now, I suggest we move on."
