Astra Pays For Fred's Lies

Everyone is giving me mean looks and staring at me, says Astra. I might also point out that no one else is walking around nude.

Fred just looks up at the sky and whistles.

Within a few moments a Caemlyn Sheriff steps up and confronts Astra. Young lady, says the Sheriff, Just what do you think you're doing? I've received irate calls from half the people in the village about a pair of perverts on the street. Public nudity is a capital offense in Caemlyn. Every visitor is informed of this crucial fact at all immigration check points when entering Caemlyn for a quest. Before I pass judgement and execute you for your capital crime, please tell me why you chose to break our most sacred law?

Astra is shocked. She had no idea she was committing such a heinous crime. She looks accusingly at Fred, points at him, and says: Officer, this man lied to me. He told me that public nudity was the custom in Caemlyn. Foolishly, I trusted him.

The Sheriff looks pityingly at Astra and says, Yes, liars are certainly disgusting creatures, and while being untruthful constitutes a minor offense in Caemlyn and is punishable under the law, you as an individual are still ultimately responsible for your own actions. Therefore, as lawfully constituted under Caemlyn law, and in my formal duties as Sheriff, Judge, Jury, and Executioner, I hereby sentence you, Astra the nudist hussy, to death. The Sheriff then looks at Fred and says, as lawfully constituted under Caemlyn law, and in my formal duties as Sheriff, Judge, Jury, and Executioner, I hereby sentence you, Fred the Liar, to a sentence of twenty years on the chain gang, breaking rocks in the quarry.

Both Fred and Astra stare in shocked horror as they listen to the Sheriff's snap judgement. The horror only increases as they see the Sheriff pull out a massive Claymore Sword and make preparations to execute Astra.

Fred and Astra turn to run, but are stopped instantly by a squadron of Deputies who quietly walked up behind them as they were listening to the Sheriff.

Fred tries desperately to save Astra, but the Deputies pin his arms to his sides and prevent him from defending her as the Sheriff swings his Claymore Sword and lops off her head.

Fred watches in fascination as Astra's head flys up a short distance and then falls to the ground with a PLOP! Her nude body, now rather unattractive and unappealing, falls to the ground with a SPLAT! A knacker-man's cart shows up, loads up Astra's body and head, and heads off into the distance.

Now for you, says the Sheriff to Fred as he takes Fred's weapons and leaves our hero completely helpless. Boys, he says to his deputies, take this scofflaw off to the quarry. Chain him to the rest of the gang and make certain that he works a double-shift every day for the first year. That should teach him not to lie and deceive innocent women.

Against his will, Fred his hauled off to the quarry. He is securely chained to others in the gang, given a pick, and told to break rocks.
