Fred shakes his head groggily.

"Wake up matey!"

Fred complies. His eyes open and he sees a pair of deep blue eyes staring into his own.

They belong to the most lovely young woman he has ever met.

She is dressed in pantaloons, a loose cheesecloth shirt and a jaunty sailor's kerchief on her silky black hair.

"I'm Klaire. You are?"

"I'm-"

Fred pauses.

Because he can no longer remember his name, his nature, or his purpose...
