Elrondir "Oh Gawd they're back," Misato whispers, feeling a headache coming on here. I, of course being elfin, hear that too easily from where we stand. Sudden arrivals of forces of unknown province who show off great firepower and then go off slinking off into the foliage might make a person a bit nervous, even IF at the time of said display of firepower the unknowns may have saved the bacon of one you cared for. It might have spoken well what we'd done and all, but the way we'd gone about it was at times like a bull in a china shop in the offing. Sigh, not like we could help it. I mean I admit some of what we had to do (cloak and dagger wise) was almost over the top, but then again . . .I will argue that we’d be a tad foolish to do it any other way. Given everything we’d known (or THOUGHT we’d known). We should have done this part much earlier, alas. If we’d only known…we wouldn't have to make the trip back to this place . . . which we left after causing quiet a shakeup, I wager. By the looks casted our way by the plumb haired driver and her passengers (two Rei look alikes . . .this one I just GOTTA hear though I have a hunch) those at NERV are still a bit put off by my group. "Flag of truce," I say slowly, drawing forth the white flag that we'd put together before coming back here. Granted, we had thought we would have to track down someone in authority before presenting our flag of truce here (probably in the hospital over there). I had thought I'd recognized the place (Rei confirmed it) from the anime and had jokingly said that if we looked inside we'd probably find the pilot of Unit 01 inside. Shinji Akari usually ended up in there after battling an Angel. He never was hurt enough to have lasting . . . physical injuries that would put him out for a long time, but he ended up in THIS hospital a LOT! That said, a lot of NERV types were always going to be nearby, keeping tabs on the kid for one reason or another. I'd also almost joked about this hospital being one of the few places a battle between Evas and Angels took place so should be without mystical contamination, but I'd held my tongue. It wasn't too funny at all, really. Was surprised that the fallout of OUR battle with that Angel should have been in the range of Misato's apartment (where we'd left those notes and such) . . . and so I'm glad that at least I'd been right about THIS place. That said . . . "Major, may we have a moment of your time?" Firethorn (aka "Fifi") calls from behind us. "We have something that needs to be discussed and quickly with your superiors . . ." Basically, what she offers this general (Gendo got arrested . . . breaks my heart) is to act as a translator for the natives of this world who increasingly make their presence known to these newcomers. Some encounters had been humorous. One in particular (the details I never DO get) was deadly indeed. An entire platoon (from what I overhear) on patrol wiped out by a madman magic user, with only one survivor (who managed to kill the wacko by emptying his machinegun into the SOB). Whoever that guy was must be the luckest guy on the planet. By the sounds of it, the magicks used by that mad mage was very deadly! We Champions, after seeing that the ball has started rolling and the centaurs are doing their own brand of magic (building bridges between TWO very different worlds) make to depart. Things are well in hand or at least in motion. Time to go. So we leave before we hear what kind of relationship the centaurs, a bunch of locals (a few counts and a Duke who’re still in the fight against those invading amazons . . . after a week or so they’re still slugging it out . . . but loosing). If those Amazons get a taste of what a common soldier can do . . .boy I feel for them. If they drop an N2 mine on those invaders . . . . . . . Not to say that the military types here would go THAT far, but then again these are the forces (or at least partly the forces) who’d later on in the story this reality is based upon attack NERV, in order to kill everyone inside! Oh, granted they’d been doing that to prevent Third Impact (but actually were stooges in helping BRING it about by SEELE’s design) but you see the thing here. I’d voiced my hesitations about the centaurs wanting to approach those types directly for anything like (eventually) broaching the subject of some kind of aid against invaders (perhaps in exchange for food stuff and the like). However, they’d said they wanted to try this (and pointed out that better now . . . than late when they are getting desperate). Can’t fault them. Ball is in their court now and it remains to be seen just where the course of this world shall lead. I DO hope to the stars. But whatever is to happen happens ON it’s own and without us witnessing it. THAT includes whatever is going to happen when those blue haired girls I KNOW are NOT Rei and this . . . . “Reika” nonsense (who do they think they’re kidding?) I do know that when Shinji and Asuka meet them, things will I HOPE get better for them. . . . Right near the end of Neon Genesis both had suffered from nervous breakdowns. . . . They need help which I hope is coming. I DO. However, to try to force the matter and FORCE this would do more harm than good, I fear. It is in their court now. Yes, we slip away. Leaving a lot unrevealed. Leaving things behind that I’m sure that a LOT of anime fans would just LOVE to witness, but it IS NOT my or our place to pry.
