Once upon a time...
The Great Dragon of the Southern Caves is the supreme ruler over a race of half-human, half dragon, called The Draconus. How these creatures came about goes this way... One day Elvira of the Woods was walking through the forest collecting berries for her ailing fathers flu when she was approached by the most handsomest man she had ever seen in her life. His name was Mikhail and he wooed her into laying with him upon the forest floor and made love to her. Unbeknownst to Elvira, Mikhail was no ordinary human but The Great Dragon of the Southern Caves in human form. Nine months later, Elvira gave birth to two creatures who were half human, half dragon...one male, one female. Thus, the "Adam and Eve" of the Draconus race was born! The Great Dragon was very pleased with this accomplishment for he was not just a dragon, but a highly intelligent dragon with magical powers! The woman Elvira, died shortly after giving birth to the first two Draconus. This saddened The Great Dragon so he sought solitude atop Mount Forge...the highest mountain peak in the realm. Atop this mountain, The Great Dragon encountered an alien being claiming to be Gygax the Destructor. Gygax claimed that he wished to wipe out the human race and wanted The Great Dragon to be his right hand man. This angered The Great Dragon so much that The Great Dragon sucked Gygax's very soul into an Imperial Orb and informed Gygax the Destructor if he ever returned, he would crush the Imperial Orb under one mighty foot, thus destroying Gygax's soul. Gygax the Destructor left but vowed to get the Imperial Orb back from The Great Dragon...in time. The Great Dragon hid the Imperial Orb long long ago. The Great Dragon is so old that he himself has forgotten where the orb is hidden...its only origins can be traced to the caverns inside the mountains but no more details than that are available. Meanwhile, The Draconus race has vowed to keep the orbs location lost to anyone. The Draconus feed on the children of different hamlets all over the realm in exchange, according to them, to keep Gygax the Destructor at bay. This bloody exchange has been happening for eons.
