The old wizard plants Fred the Flower into a water-filled vase and
says "Yes, yes...we'll fix you up shortly."
The old wizard begins mixing some sort of concoction in a few beakers, brings a purple liquid over to the vase that Fred the Flower now inhabits, and pours the mixture in... POOF! Fred turns back to normal! "There now", the old wizard begins, "Now we can converse with one another the proper way." Fred says "Look old man...I have no time for this...I"m on a quest to..." "Destroy the dragon", interrupts the old wizard, "Yes, yes...I know all about it." "You do?" asks Fred. "Yes, yes...I know." the wizard says, "But listen to me carefully and you may live through your quest." The old wizard invites Fred to sit with him at his table. They sit and the old wizard says "How much do you know about this dragon?" "Not much", Fred responds, "I just know I have to destroy it." "Might I give you a small push in the right direction?" says the old wizard. "If you would like." Fred says. "Very well...", the old wizard begins, "Not far from here is a small hamlet called Elks Crossing. Elks Crossing is currently being sieged by a race known as Draconus...half human, half dragon creatures...ruthless killers of mankind who dine on the hamlets children." "Great Zeus's Beard!" exclaims Fred. "In return for their children, the Draconus protect them and everyone in this land from Gygax the Destructor...an alien being who wishes to destroy ALL humankind!" "If this Gygax is so great, why doesn't he just wage war on the Draconus, wipe them out, and then wage war on humans?" asks Fred. "Because the master of the Draconus, which is the dragon you seek, holds the Imperial Orb in his realm...Gygax the Destructors soul is kept inside the orb. However, the master of the Draconus race is so old that he has forgotten where the orb is located in his realm." says the old wizard. "So what am I to do?" asks Fred. The old wizard says "Go to Elks Crossing, stay a few days until the Draconus come to take Elks Crossings children, and find a way to get them to tell you where their master dwells...the dragon you are after." "My king has informed me of the dragons location already, old fool", says Fred, "The dragon is located in the Southern Caves." "FOOL!" shouts the old wizard, "The map the king has bestowed upon you is full of false information created by the Draconus themselves to throw mankind off of the trail to their master! Their masters whereabouts is a heavily guarded secret and has been heavily protected for eons! FOOL!" "Great...now I"m in a dillemma..." says Fred.
