They stopped the boat a half an hour later when they saw a pathway with a glow at the top. Carefully, they investigated.

  1. It led outside, to open fields.
  2. It led outside to the busy port town of Kalamazoo. By (hopefully) coincidence, they were at Fred's cousin's house.
  3. It was just a large concentration of Adventurer's Moss (which grew brightly everywhere in the caverns) and was otherwise a dead end.
  4. It was magical world of whimsy, wonder, candy trees and cute animals that talked.
