Knight, Lady, Conundrum

The Never Ending Quest - Episode 60788

Windham's Tavern was half full or so. Farmers for the most part although there were some townsfolk and clerical servants. At a table of their own sat severely dressed divines. Three of them, two fathers and a mother.

Windham was serving, and so were both of his slatterns.

By the fire a grizzled old sailor was sat on a stool, travellers, pilgrims and common labourers around him, entranced by his tale.

"There were tales told tall and true about Sir Fred. Why, there were so many of these tales that in the end we never knew what was right and what not about his quests and his achievements.
If every deed as is claimed for him was true why he'd have the crowdedest shield in the whole of the College of Arms would he not!"

There was a little laughter at that.

The storyteller shrugged expansively at the humour.

"Aye that's the conundrum, which is nothing but a fancy word for riddle."

The divines exchanged a glance, one with the other.

"But I can tell you some things as I know to be true. Because I was there..."

  1. How Sir Fred and the Lady from Elsewhen found the Dragon
  2. Eye of Dragon, Tongue of Evil
  3. The Underworld Sea and the Dragon's Pain
  4. Dragon Slain At Last
