"Now we wait for something to happen," I replied. Just like that, something did.

I had excused myself and was just beginning to unpack my suitcase, when a loud crash and a scream sent me racing back into the living room. There was the dame, sprawled across the floor and shaking like a thing possessed.

"Help me!" she shrieked.

1. The dame had been lying about part of her story.
2. The dame had been shot.
3. The dame's body was devouring itself from the inside out.
