KA-THUNK! The razor sharp bolt strikes the old necromancer in his right eye, lodging into his brain. He collapses without issuing any last cries or, thankfully, spells. The troll had been a noisy companion, and he would have announced their arrival before Fred had a chance to catch the evil drake sleeping. And besides, he was a troll. Belboz was a creepy old necromancer. His death will only be mourned by flesh-eating zombies, no doubt. His ilk are only to be mistrusted, and Belboz had exhausted his usefulness. You can only trust a mage for so long, best to destroy the threat before Fred had become too relaxed and let his guard down. Mages are like snakes. Fred lights another torch and procedes to venture further into the caves. Although the cave network had been a twisting labyrinth of dark passageways during his time with Belboz, the narrow tunnel he's in goes more or less straight and steadily downwards, toward the nethermost reaches of the Shreken's deep roots. This is good, he has heard rumors of similar passages being hidden shortcuts the dragon's lair.Before too long...
