The Ruined Village

Velus had told Fred via coded barks, and Fred had told everyone else, that
the
village was his home. Thus they were all amazed when
they arrived there to find that half the houses were ruins, and that
even those in slightly better condition were overgrown with creepers and
had lost their
doors and windows. Venturing inside one of the better-preserved houses,
Fred found that everything except
the more substantial items of furniture had rotted away. They would
clearly find
neither clothes nor food anywhere within the village.
Fred discussed with Exotica, Astra and a few of the others what could have happened. There seemed to be two main possibilities. A spell could have been cast on the village to achieve this result. More worryingly, the flow of time could have been greatly slowed down within the dragon's domain, so that a hundred years had passed in the world outside whilst only a few days or weeks had seemed to pass in the caverns.
