...to find Thenulgherjhar apparently dead, pierced to the ocean floor by five massive silver lances bound together by chains, and each large enough for a giant to wield. Red blood flowed from the whale's mortal wounds, and Ecco know sharks would be here soon.

"Is that you, Ecco? And... Gerana?" the dying whale gasped.

"Father!" Gerana exclaimed, rushing to his side. "We came as fast as we could..."

"What happened?" Ecco said. "We destroyed the moon, but we... uh... who did this to you?"

"Destroying... the moon... was... a stupid idea." the whale gasped. "Now... the real... war will begin... and sooner than... we had time to prepare... I will... use the last of my life energy to promote you two..."

"Father no!" Gerana yelled, but it was too late. Thenulgherjhar's soul passed on to the next world, blessing them and bathing them in orange light. Gerana sprouted wings that enabled her to move faster underwater, and fly in the sky as well. Ecco too, reached the next stage of her evolution.

1. Dolphin High Priestess, able to fly above water and protected by two bionic satellites, Ion and Xeltis.
2. Marine shapeshifter, able to assume any form underwater.
3. Holy Merknight of the Vodahl Empire.
4. Wait a minute... Thenulgherjhar was Gerana's father? We really need more backstory on this.
