Now that Belboz was eaten up by grief, it seemed to Amy that there was even less chance that she would get any more help from him. She would leave, and try to get out of these hateful caves before Drakenrot could carry out his threat against her. At least Belboz had removed her collar, so she was not without hope of managing this. And then perhaps she could find another magic user somewhere outside who could do what Belboz could not or would not do, and transform her back.

She left.
But as she made to go, Belboz suddenly looked up. "Not so fast," he said. "You will be the instrument of my vengeance on Drakenrot. But in a different body, so you can take him unawares - the corpse that I mentioned earlier." [52610]
