Velus was unrepentant. He also reminded Fred using their code of barks that calling him a dog was liable to hurt his feelings. Fred didn't believe him, and in any case didn't care at this precise moment.

Realising that asking Fred to apply the scrubbing brush to get the tangles out of his coat would be pushing his luck, Velus jumped out of the bath and shook himself. Fred jumped back out of the way, but more water was added to the small puddles already on the floor.

1. The mess is magically cleaned up, and a new tub full of water appears.
